About Us

The members of the Project leadership Team of the Partnership for Kids (PARK) Project have collectively and collaboratively agreed to the following vision, mission and values to govern our work together:

OUR VISION

Bridgeport children will live in a safe, caring community that nourishes the development of positive mental health.

OUR MISSION

To build a system of care in partnership with home, school and community so that children with behavioral and mental health challenges can achieve success.

OUR VALUES

We are Child Focused

  • Children are the focus of the PARK project, not the agencies or systems--children come first.
  • Children are our future and that all children in Bridgeport can succeed.
  • It takes a city to raise a child.
  • Our children are more than just a label. Therefore, we are responsive to each child's unique needs, hopes, dreams and culture.
  • Children with behavioral and mental health challenges can remain with families in their community.
  • Children with behavioral and mental health challenges must receive supports and services in their community.
We are Family Focused
  • We respect each family's values, cultures, strengths, and acknowledge their expertise.
  • We are responsive to each family's unique needs, desires, hopes, dreams, and cultures even as they are changing.
  • Our decision making emphasizes the needs expressed by families.
  • We support family directed and family driven care
  • We build on family and community strengths rather than deficits.
We Support Each Other
  • All families deserve support.
  • children and families have unique needs that require individualized services and supports
  • We support each other to benefit children and families.
  • We are continually building partnerships that strengthen our community as a whole.
We are Leaders
  • The PARK Project is a partnership of parents, professionals and community to facilitate change and the Bridgeport community will achieve the Park Project’s vision.
  • We are all leaders in taking responsibility for the success of the Project. We all take responsibility for the process of change and solutions.
  • We focus on solutions. Therefore, there is no blaming or finger pointing in our partnership.
  • The collective purpose is greater than the individual or agency.
  • Every one matters, is important, and can help.
